Technical Artist (f/m/x)

Introduction

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Technical Artist to join our team at Competition Company. As a Technical Artist, you will bridge the gap between art and technology, optimizing workflows, implementing tools, and ensuring the seamless integration of art assets into our game engine. Your expertise will contribute to the visual quality, performance, and overall player experience of our games.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Art Director, Game Designers, and Engineers to define and maintain the artistic vision of the game while adhering to technical constraints and performance targets.

  • Develop and implement efficient art pipelines and tools to streamline asset creation, optimization, and integration processes for artists and developers.

  • Create shaders, materials, and visual effects to enhance the realism and immersion of in-game assets, including vehicles, environments, and special effects.

  • Optimize art assets for performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art assets, rendering, lighting, and other graphical elements in collaboration with the engineering team.

  • Guide and support artists on best practices for asset creation, optimization, and performance considerations.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies in game development and graphics rendering to continually improve workflows and visual quality.

  • Participate in R&D initiatives to explore and prototype new tools, techniques, and features that push the boundaries of visual fidelity and gameplay innovation.

What could make you stand out more?

  • Experience with 3D Art.

  • Procedural content creation.

  • Experience building tools for Blender (Blender Scripting API).

  • Strong Interest in SimRacing.

  • Strong Interest in motorsport, racing games or competitive e-sport.

Your profile
  • Experience as a Technical Artist in the video game industry, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in art optimization/shader development/tool creation.

  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C++, or HLSL/GLSL.

  • Solid knowledge of common DCC tools such as Blender, Photoshop, Substance, or Maya.

  • Solid understanding of real-time rendering techniques, lighting principles, and shader programming.

  • Experience with Unreal Engine.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to art and graphics rendering.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Passion for racing games and a deep appreciation for visual quality, realism, and attention to detail.

  • Fluent in English.
